Tanya Martinez is a member of the Mi'kmaq Nation (Eel River Bar) and grew up in Spencer, MA. She founded the Wolf Cry Singers in 2003
to bring women together with the hand drum. She presently resides in Arizona, has a masters degree in solar energy engineering, and
has used her education to help many people on reservations with fuel efficiency and energy issues.
Gloria Freeman is one of the original WCS members and is FrenchCanadian, Irish, English, and Blackfoot. She has long been recognized as a
singer in the local Native communities of MA and RI. Residing in Berkley, MA, she enjoys painting and practices the art of fingerweaving.
She is the group's public relations contact.
Gloria Dedam Colon is a Mi'kmaq woman born in New Brunswich, Canada and raised in Boston, MA. She is an enrolled member of the
Big Cove First Nation Indian Reserve as well and the North American Indian Center of Boston. She has been with the group for several years,
is married and has two children. Gloria enjoys beading, and is the group's secretary.
Robin Mullen is Irish, Oneida, Arcadian and Mi'kmaq. She joined the group shortly after it began to learn the songs which have become her
prayers. She is a talented song writer with a great sense of rhythm. She resides in Dorchester, MA with her family.
Janis Blanchette is Abenaki and French Canadian. She is the mother of three and grandmother of six. She works as an electrical operator
mechanic. She is a certified massage therapist, canine massage certified and soon to be equine massase certified. She has been a member
for several years and lives in Dighton, MA
Jeanne Marie Morrison grew up on Cape Cod, MA. She is of Cherokee and Passamoquaddy heritage and is also African American, East Indian
and Scottish. She joined the group in 2006 and lives in Watertown, MA.
Janet Robinson is descendant of Acadians, Inuit, Irish, and Mi'kmaq people, with ancestors going back to the 1600's to Cape Breton, Canada.
From a family of musicians and singers, she has sung in various music and church groups. She lives in Quincy, MA with her husband.
Suzanne Norman comes from a family of French Canadians and is also Blackfoot and Scottish. She learned to respect and treasure the gifts of
the earth mother from her grandmother. She is a talented artist and yoga teacher. She lives in North Attleboro, Ma with her husband is is the
mother of three sons and grandmother of four.
